IT happens, my guild is falling apart and im thinking of going from a pvp server to a pve. I AM A VERY ACTIVE PVPER so i would like some answers from people who have done this
Got some questions i would like answered and i gues whoever else wants to say something
-I know some PVE servers had trouble getting battlegrounds started. This has not been a problem since cross realm bg's have been added. Will cross realm BG's be around forever? im hoping so
-Outlands will be pvp enabled on ALL servers right? Everyone is flagged right when they enter, and they can't turn it off no matter how much they want to right?
-It says on the transfers "cannot transfer from pve to pvp 'YET'" is there any idea as to when this opens? so i f i do regret my decision, i wont regret it forever?
need some answers and some insight to whoever has done this |

Q u o t e: -I know some PVE servers had trouble getting battlegrounds started. This has not been a problem since cross realm bg's have been added. Will cross realm BG's be around forever? im hoping so
They're here to stay as far as we can foresee.
Q u o t e: -Outlands will be pvp enabled on ALL servers right? Everyone is flagged right when they enter, and they can't turn it off no matter how much they want to right?
No, Outlands is the same as Azeroth concerning PvP flagging. The outdoor PvP objectives may increase some amount of PvP enabled players on a PvE realm, but it's not a zone-wide or continent-wide PvP free for all.
Q u o t e: -It says on the transfers "cannot transfer from pve to pvp 'YET'" is there any idea as to when this opens? so i f i do regret my decision, i wont regret it forever?
That wording may need to be revised a bit, I'll go take a look at it. We don't currently have any plans to allow PvE to PvP transfers in the future. We can't give an absolute such as "never again", but it is something we're strongly opposed to doing currently.

Hi Blizzard,
For the same reason you opened the PvE <-> PvP transfers, it's time to make your customers happy and enable EU <-> US transfers too.
The game matured enough to negate the difference between PvE, PvP, EU and US servers in almost 4 years. Let your dedicated customers the freedom of choice. Allow payed transfers between continents!
Thanks. |

That is a very different request, as there are technical limitations that prevent us from allowing accounts to switch regions.
How are we going to justify arms dealing if we know we're all one? |

So we can expect to see it in about a year?
Maybe.
The account databases are not synced in such a way, nor do we currently have plans to make it so.

I sure could. We have no current plans of allowing accounts to transfer between regions.

Sure, leveling is a bit harder on PvP servers. Sure, PvE transfers have it easy. But look at it this way - most of the PvE transfers are undergeared/PvE geared with little to no PvP experience.
The 70s that transfer over will harass / grief the hell out of lowbies, as it is their sole intention. But faced against an experienced 70 who leveled completely on the PvP server, they will have no choice but to spirit res and cry to their mommies. Just look at this as an opportunity to make them either earn their place, or go home crying.

Providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for all players is always a priority for us, and we are continually re-evaluating our policies and programs to do so. As the state of the game has matured substantially since the inception of Paid Character Transfers, we will now be allowing PvE-to-PvP transfers on a full-time basis to provide players with more mobility and freedom to easily play with their friends.
Keep in mind that all of the other standard cooldowns and restrictions will continue to apply; we’re just opening the option to transfer characters on Normal realms to Player-vs.-Player realms. Please review the Paid Character Transfer FAQ (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20558&rhtml=true?rhtml=y) if you have any questions on how this service works.
You can use this service at any time by visiting your Account Management (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account) page and selecting the “Paid Character Transfer” button.

PvE to PvP Paid Character Transfers FAQ:

Why are you now allowing character transfers from PvE realms to PvP realms?
Because World of Warcraft has matured significantly since the inception of Paid Character Transfers, we don’t feel that PvE-to-PvP transfers will have the negative impact on the game that we initially wanted to avoid when we started the service in 2006. This change will provide more mobility and freedom for players to experience the game with friends or play in the type of environment they’re looking for.
So I can transfer any character to any PvP realm of my choosing now?
Yes, as long as there are no other existing restrictions that would prevent the transfer from taking place, such as trying to transfer a Horde character to a PvP realm where you already play an Alliance character. Please see the Paid Character Transfer FAQ for more details and restrictions.
Do PvE-to-PvP transfers differ from other transfers?
No. The same rules and restrictions will apply to these transfers. Please visit the Paid Character Transfer FAQ for further details.
What if I don’t like the PvP realm I transferred to? Can I go elsewhere?
Any character that has completed a realm transfer can be transferred again after 30 days have passed.
Will there be any measures implemented to prevent abuse of this feature?
We’ll continue to monitor all realms and make changes to how the service works if it appears that abuse is taking place.
Will you offer PvE-to-PvP Free Character Moves in the future now that the option is available through the Paid Character Transfer service?
We may offer Free Character Moves from PvE realms to PvP realms in the future, should the need arise.
Will I now be able to create both Alliance and Horde characters on the same PvP realm on one account?
Creating both Horde and Alliance characters on the same PvP realm is still restricted, for many of the same reasons why Alliance and Horde characters cannot speak to each other in the game. Maintaining a barrier between the Alliance and Horde factions supports fair gameplay and is in keeping with the spirit of the Warcraft universe.

Could we start saying, "It's a fly in the soup!" or "It's a fly on the windscreen" instead of "It's a slap in the face" ? I think everyone's cheeks are plenty red by now and look quite rosy.

Q u o t e: I don't find a fly in my soup to have the same level of offense that being slapped does. I would be upset about it yes, but not to the point of strangling somebody over it. Perhaps "it's a kick in the shins"?
Everyone would just go around wearing shin guards then. Meanwhile a fly in the soup would mean you couldn't eat it unless you're the sort that thinks it's just extra protein. *shivers*

What is blizzards position on giving feedback about the changes in BETA?
I keep seeing "its only BETA" replies to threads where people post their (valid?) concerns about the proposed upcoming changes. I know I've posted some concerns about the possbile rogue changes and had the thread inundated with a flood of "BETA!BETA!BETA!".
When is the right time to post concerns? And are these forums the place for it? (I dont have a beta invite, so I cannot post on the Wotlk forums)

Constructive feedback based on actual experience with changes is generally given more weight than first blush reactions to changes or possible changes without hands on experience with it.
If any of us say "it's only in beta" it's generally meant as a reminder that things are still changing and everyone should keep that in mind as they are giving their feedback.

Am I the only one sick of people saying "Stop whining about X change! The expansion is still in beta!"
Okay mouth breathers, what do you want people to do? You complain about things while they're in beta so that they don't end up in live release. Also, did you just buy this game over the summer? Once the players start play testing things, they don't tend to change very much. Talents/abilities may get tweaked, but most "features" remain as they are.
Stop with the "It's still beta!" crap. Lots of things were "just in beta" that ended up getting implemented exactly as they were. Lolsand anyone?
NOTE: A lot of people are taking the angle that I'm complaining about class balance. I'm not. I'm talking about game features - hence my reference to the Silithus Sand. Every PvP'er in the game complained about what a stupid idea it was and that it would completely fail. All the fanboys and Devs told us "It's still in beta! You have no idea! Wait until it goes live." Well it went live, and it still sucked. So don't tell us not to ask for things to change while they're in beta.

Q u o t e:
Not every negative comment is a "QQ" post. From observing these forums, the trolls are nothing but negative, the CM's and MVP view the world as sunshine and rainbows. Somewhere in the middle is the truth and if the truth isn't pleasant, no amount of "Bagdad Bob" enthusiasm will change it.
I do not view the world as sunshine and rainbows, however, it's not all doom and gloom either. ;) I think you're oversimplifying a bit on what we have done and continue to do, but I do appreciate your sentiment.

Given that I am not a developer, I and the rest of the Community Team have continued to forward on concerns on many levels of the game development to the Development Team. The Development Team has been working very hard on an expansion that not only adds new talents and abilities to all classes, but changes much of the balance of these classes including more expansive changes that affect all classes and the game as a whole.
We have made it clear that changes were coming, and they are in fact coming in light of the expansion. Keep in mind, that all players will have access to the new 51 point talents, spells and abilities even outside of purchasing the expansion. These changes will also be made available for testing on the Public Test Realm at some point in time (or so it is anticipated) by which all players will have access and ability to provide further feedback.
I'm sure you've also noticed that since we've gone into testing, the Development Team itself has been addressing concerns and feedback given directly from the beta feedback on the beta forums. If you have concerns you still feel they need to address, I suggest posting constructive feedback on those concerns.
While you may feel there is some personal disconnect here or that we have not been doing our jobs as you feel we may have "promised" to do them, this is not true. But should you still feel that there is a shortcoming on my part or that of any other Community Team member, please feel free to email to wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com.
